How to be Unbearable to Yourself and Others
There is a certain Scorpio expression manifesting as the Medusa, in which a person projects their unconscious self-loathing onto another, and being terribly impossible to be with. All the while, they desperately want to be recognized to the very core of their being. This is a defensive gesture to ward off the feelings of pain and terrible trauma. The outer mask is not withdrawn and shy, but is the face of terrible rage and anger of being violated, but is not dared to be genuinely felt and accepted.
The projection then makes it “safer” by putting the onus of all the feelings that are dared not to be felt, onto someone else. The scorpion sting then becomes self-inflicted, as the deepest desire to be recognized and loved is cast aside as something hateful, invasive, and twisted, and the possibility of love is lost. This then becomes a self-predictive reason for more rage to be internalized, as the cause is not accepted, or recognized.
The Medusa expression can live on various levels in the psyche, from making life quite unbearable for themselves and others from a proud state of self-proclaimed uniqueness and anger, to being more subtle as one who has a fairly narrow, even successful focus in their lives, yet damaging the hearts and minds of others, as they dig themselves deeper into self-loathing and anger. The transformation needed would take a major step in self honesty.
