Saturn Square Uranus and the Restructuring of Self
Saturn is currently in a waning square aspect to Uranus. As I write, it is already beginning to separate from the aspect. It will again be exact again on June 14, December 24, 2021, and closely in early October, 2022 . These will occur, for these next 20 months, while Saturn and Uranus are in Tropical Aquarius and Taurus, respectively. These two, in square aspect, will be experienced as a general sense of tension, here on the earthly plane. There will be three kinds of responses in the human realm.
Everything that has been built up, but is not in alignment with a decidedly constructive purpose towards a sustainably positive, compassionate, and wise direction, will be challenged and shaken to its core. This will be experienced in our personal and societal lives. Identities, and social forms will crumble, especially those that are self-serving, corrupt, and essentially disrespectful. There will be resistance to the call for freedom and creative change.
Simultaneously, all that lives in us as ideals and imaginations of possibilities need to have the grounded structures and boundaries of a strong individual “I” to give necessary form to manifest the need for freedom and change. On a societal level, the container of healthy laws and practices towards a living sense of justice can provide form for the needs for change and rethinking to manifest. This is an area in which much change needs to happen.
There will be those who sit between form and freedom, holding them as opposites that can only clash. Some will choose extremes, while others will sit in apathy, or indecision. This is what makes it more interesting, and dangerous. Those with strong sympathies and antipathies, yet do not have some degree of mastery of self, will gravitate to the regurgitation of slogans, memes, and propaganda, of one “side” or another.
Another manifestation of what seems to be a sitting on the fence, as it were, is to be rigidly holding one’s perceptions of another as the reality of the other person, while extolling platitudes and pointing out the negativities of unconscious, or un-evolved behavior. This is in reality, a kind of Saturnian rigidification of Uranian idealism. It is a projection of oneself, onto another, in order to feel, or appear to be an enlightened person.
The laws of karma have to be fulfilled. There has been much that has been set into motion for a long time, historically, and for lifetimes for individuals, and the collective. The proverbial piper has to be paid, and challenges and trials have to be faced on all levels. Materialistic thinking that arose out of the diminishing of spiritual understanding has given rise to AI, one of the myriad of challenges to what it is to be a human being. This one example of how Uranian creative insight has sunk to materialistic depths, and possibly into hellish depths of Saturnian frozen rigidity, calls us to develop discipline in our thinking, feelings, and our actions, so that we experience a creative restructuring of our lives towards being fully human.
