From Blind Enthusiasm to Making All Things New

Aries is obviously known for its spontaneous and forceful centrifugal outpouring of subjective consciousness. Action leading to identity is its modus operandi in becoming a more defined being. The unconscious instinctual nature of Aries in relation to self observation, leads to seeing unconscious motives at work, thus bringing them to consciousness. This points to its main potential, to become a separate individual. To the degree that Aries is expressed through unconscious insecurities, or just blind enthusiasms, one will manipulate and dominate others, or at least blindly step on them in order to demonstrate individuality.

Positively, this archetype is our ability to take hold of what we have learned from our experiences and spontaneously create the appropriate thoughts and deeds to establish who we are as an individual. In this way, we are in process of artistically shaping our souls. To the degree our thoughts and feelings are free of being determined by outside definitions and expectations, and free from the dictates of our own instinctual sympathies and antipathies, and their accompanying unconscious motives, we experience the impulse expressing itself in the words, “I make all things new.”
